On behalf of Irie Jam Media, Global Athletics, IMAGES LLC and the entire management & staff of Reebok Grand Prix, I am pleased to extend congratulations to Usain 'Lighting' Bolt who beat the competition before a capacity crowd in the Digicel sponsored 100m at the Reebok Grand Prix, Icahn Stadium, Randall Island, NY on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Bolt's world record run of 9.72 seconds was spectacular and has deservingly earned him the title 'world fastest man."
We would like to also congratulate Veronica Campbell-Brown for her victory in the Visa women's 100m, in a world leading 10.92 seconds and to all the other Jamaican athletes who made us extremely proud at the event. As you prepare for the Beijing 2008 summer Olympics, we wish you all the best.
To our government officials headed by Youth, Sport & Culture, Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange and Consul General of Jamaica, Mrs. Geneive Brown Metzger; Ali McNabb, Ed Barnes, Hubert Lawrence, Ian Andrews, the hundred of media entities that helped us get the word out and the thousands of fans that supported the event, we must say a heartfelt thank you. Your presence was greatly appreciated and helped to ensure the event was an overwhelming success.
As we kick start our summer promotions, we look forward to your continued support at the Caribbean International Food Festival - Yam Jam on Sunday, July 27, 2008 and our marquee event, Irie Jamboree 2k8 – North America's premier reggae festival that takes place on Labor Day Sunday, August31, 2008 at Roy Wilkins Park, Queens, New York.
God bless you all.
